So the past week I've made 2 yummy and easy soups that I wanted to share with the world!

First was broccoli and cheese soup...

I started off trying it in a crockpot but some online recipe told me to put the milk in too early and so the milk seperated and it got gross....

So I made it in a pot on the stove. Thankfully I had enough ingredients that I could still use for it.

I got some garlic going in some olive oil in a pot, and then threw in a frozen pack of broccoli.
After I let the broccoli warm and soften a little, I covered it all in chicken broth (used 1qt). I Ilet that heat to boiling, then I put a couple cups of milk in the pot, 1/3 cup of flour and 2 packs of shredded cheese. I let all that melt together, then decided I wanted to blend it so it would be smooth. Overall, the soup turned out good... just a little thin for me. Next time I will  use some cornstarch to thicken it up... and maybe a little less chicken broth.

I give it a B+.

Then tonight, I made some lentil soup!

Ever since my husband and I ate some in Istanbul, Turkey (in 2009) we have talked about how we should make our own version at home. Well I finally did and it turned out pretty good!

I started out by boiling 1lb of lentils for 15 minutes.
After I drained them I mixed the lentils, 12 cups of water, tomato paste, salt, chopped carrots, chopped onion, and a little olive oil in the pot and boiled it for about 15 minutes.
We like squeezing a little lemon juice in ours, so we did that too at the end. It made a LOT of soup. I definitely shared with neighbors.

I give it an A+

Both soups were really easy, and really quick. My kind of meals.

Just wanted to share the good-ness! :)
